Starting with the July 2026 issue, Tavern Tall Tales will no longer be pushing forward chapter-based storytelling. Submissions going forward will be flash fiction pieces that push the author’s creativity to the max.

Quarterly submissions are made by writers and authors. These submissions undergo rigorous editing prior to incorporation into the short stories volume. These works are challenging as each story submitted must be a complete story and include all the elements of a traditional story while maintaining a limit of no less than 10k words and no more than 30k. Contributors who achieve this remarkable feat are closer than ever to having the courage and discipline necessary to complete their own novel.
